The Graduate Record Examination(GRE®) measures Verbal, Mathematical and Analytical Writing skills of students aspiring to undergo their Graduate studies abroad. The test intends to aid Graduate Schools (of all fields other than business) assess applicant’s potential for advanced study. Most universities in the US, while inviting applications from prospective students, ask for GRE® scores. The GRE® test has three parts – Quantitative, Verbal and Analytical Writing Assessment.

The GRE score is valid for 5 years. But, it may also depend on the requisite of the university you’ve applied as to how recent score would it consider for your admission.

  • What time of the year can I take GRE exam?

GRE exam does not have a specific date for the computer based test. A student can take it at any time of the year. While the paper based exam takes places three times in a year.

  • Which universities accept GRE scores?

Almost all universities across US and Canada accept GRE score for admission in masters programs. Increasing number of B-Schools have also started to accept GRE scores for admissions in MBA programs.

The time duration Computer Based GRE exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes while the paper based is 3 hours and 30 minutes long.

  • What is the fee structure of the exam?

The registration fee for GRE exam is 195$. You are charged 50$ for rescheduling the exam date or center.
